Since its inauguration in July 2024, the Barcelona Finance Hub by Aticco (BFH), located in the iconic Barcelona Stock Exchange building, has proven to be a key space for Spain's entrepreneurial and financial ecosystem. In just six months, the hub has consolidated its value proposition, establishing a vibrant community that drives collaboration, innovation and growth in the sector.

40 events and more than 600 attendees

In this short period, the BFH has organized more than 40 events, gathering more than 600 specialized attendees. Among the outstanding activities are:

  • Open Pitch & Discovery Meetup: A pitch competition for startups in the financial sector, where the three winners won workspaces at the BFH.
  • Presentation of "La República Verde": With the participation of author Pau Solanilla and Mayor Jaume Collboni.
  • Empowering the Future of Finance: A meeting on innovation in collaboration with the FintechInsurtechClub.

These events have positioned the BFH as an epicenter of ideas and opportunities, attracting startups as well as large corporations and experts from the financial sector.

More than 100 active members and strategic partners

The hub currently has more than 100 active members representing a broad spectrum of the financial sector, including professionals, startups, scaleups, corporations, banking institutions, associations, investment funds and training centers.

In addition, important partners such as Caixa Enginyers, Paisanos, Barcelona Centre Financer Europeu, CMS Europe, EFPA, EAE Business School, and the Institut d'Estudis Financers, among others, have joined the network of collaborations of the BFH.

International projection

The BFH has also attracted great interest globally, receiving government delegations from Hong Kong, Shanghai and Bogota. These visits highlight the hub's potential as a bridge connecting Barcelona's financial ecosystem with key international markets.

"Looking ahead to 2025, our goal is to continue growing, both nationally and internationally. We want to strengthen strategic partnerships, attract high-level professionals and promote projects that truly transform the financial sector," shares Quino Fernández, director of the Barcelona Finance Hub by Aticco.

A driving force for the financial sector in Catalonia

The BFH is not only a physical space, but an active community that promotes interaction between companies, entities and professionals. In the words of Quino Fernández: "The Barcelona Finance Hub is much more than a workspace, it is a community where the business and financial ecosystem can interact both in person and virtually".

Promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya and developed by Aticco, the BFH establishes itself as a key player in a booming financial sector in Catalonia, which has more than 600 companies, generates employment for 100,000 people and had a turnover of 46 billion euros in 2022, according to the Map of the Financial Services Sector in Catalonia prepared by Cluster Development.

With a 2025 full of opportunities ahead, the Barcelona Finance Hub by Aticco promises to continue to be a local and international benchmark in the transformation of the financial sector.
